The drop-off point is on the left as you come out of Morrison's. At the back and on the left of the white doors is where all the gardening tools are kept. At the other end of the doors all the chisels, braces and bits, hammers etc are waiting to be refurbished as well. The doors were kindly donated by Ross Windows.
.
The team has photographed a sample of the many tools and you can see them on this page.

The tools that residents of Ross-on-Wye kindly donate can be grouped as follows:

Useful for Tanzania - a few can go straight away but most need to be refurbished.

Those which can be sold to raise money to ship the other tools to Tanzania.

A few tools are of no use and we reject only those which would take too long to make useful.

You see from the pictures examples of the tools the people of Tanzania need. The tools shown can can be used around the home, in the workshop or in the community. It is just a sample of the many tools which can be useful to them.

The other tools such as lawn trimmers and hedge cutters are of less use to Tanzanians. They are sold at boot-fairs and garden shows to raise the cash needed to put them in containers for the journey to Tanzania.

Of direct benefit to you are many tools for use in the garden or home workshop at knock-down prices. The weather, at last, is warmer, the garden is more overgrown and the list of DIY jobs seems to get longer.
The tools you have at home to cope with all these jobs need replacing, sharpening even finding! Give the team a ring and say what you need.
Arrange to visit the workshop and the tools you need will be brought to life in front of you.
They come at give-away prices because they need to circulate. Without your help, they will sit and rust.
Without your help, the tools that are of use in Africa won't find their way out of Ross, never mind as far as Southampton, never mind arriving in Tanzania.

When you look at the pictures, you will soon conclude that there are lots of tools and most need to be refurbished. In June 2009, there is nobody available to do the refurbishment on the large scale . The tools continue to come in and, because space is limited, they are taken elsewhere to be stored until a "Tools that change" workshop somewhere else can deal with them.
